Roblox Group Manager + Dashboard UI improvements + Optimizations
Section titled “Roblox Group Manager + Dashboard UI improvements + Optimizations”Today we are releasing the biggest Update we have ever release! Starting with the biggest feature of them all: the Roblox Group Manager.
Roblox Group Manager
Section titled “Roblox Group Manager”The Roblox Group manager allows you to manage your Roblox group’s via simple API Endpoint. Due to some Roblox Limits there are restrictions: For now you can only have 15 Workspaces and only use our Roblox Accounts. This can be upgraded with a Premium subscription in the future.
Please note that this Feature is in Public Beta and you may experience some Issues/Bugs. We will fix them as soon as possible!
What is a workspace?
Section titled “What is a workspace?”A workspace for the Roblox Group manager is a combination of a Roblox Account and a Roblox Group.
{TOKEN_SECRET} can now be used with our Discord endpoints
Section titled “{TOKEN_SECRET} can now be used with our Discord endpoints”You can now use either {TOKEN_SECRET} or {BOT_TOKEN}. This requires though that you have registered your Bot on the dashboard (https://dashboard.cookie-api.com/dashboard/discord-bots). But you can also replace the bot_token parameter from requests with bot_id. Again this requires your Bot to be registered on the Dashboard.
Why use those variables when i can just use my Token directly instead?
Section titled “Why use those variables when i can just use my Token directly instead?”If you use those variables you decrease the risk of getting your bot token exposed and you also don’t need to paste your bot token in every request over and over.
Rate limit headers
Section titled “Rate limit headers”This is more of a Quality of Life thing but you now receive in every request that doesn’t result in a 5xx status 4 rate limiting headers:
| Header | Description |
|---|---|
| X-RateLimit-Limit | Shows you the maximum requests that your account can send per 60 seconds |
| X-RateLimit-Remaining | Shows how many requests are left until your requests get blocked |
| X-RateLimit-Reset | UNIX Timestamp of when the ratelimit will reset |
| X-RateLimit-Reset-After | Shows in how much seconds the ratelimit will reset |
As a small disclaimer for our BotGhost users: Unfortunately BotGhost doesn’t support that you can retrieve headers in API requests so this feature unfortunately doesn’t affect you :(
Storage limits
Section titled “Storage limits”I know you guys will hate us for it but unfortunately we have to introduce a Storage limit. From now on all Transcripts you create will use some of your storage. You will get 512 MB for free. That’s enough for about ~12 thousand transcripts. All your current transcripts do not count towards this limit and don’t cost you storage.
Endpoints
Section titled “Endpoints”In this big update we also added a few endpoints:
- Random number sequence
- Improved the discord role members Endpoint
Dashboard UI Improvements
Section titled “Dashboard UI Improvements”In addition to those cool features we also improved our Dashboard:
- Changed the look of tables
- Fixed the overview page glitching out on the mobile version
- Improved the look of the API Key regenerate and show/hide buttons to fit the design better
- Made the buttons on the dashboard responsive
- Added a storage usage page
- Redesigned the premium page
- Changed the look of the buttons at the top of every page
- Fixed that color pickers would start at #000000 instead of the actual accent color
- Added a lot of animations
Docs improvements
Section titled “Docs improvements”We also improved our new docs giving them an entire different look and restructuring some pages. Here is a quick overview:
- Added a small box with a link to our discord server at the bottom right
- Added a grid effect
- Added a glowing effect
- Added some more icons
- Changed the scrollbar (both sidebar and main content)
- Changed the layout of every endpoint page
- Improved the white-mode
- Improved the mobile version
- Sidebar can now be swiped on the mobile version
- Added a GitHub comment feature (Allows you to comment below each endpoint page. Made to share your ideas/suggestions and feedback on that page. To use this feature you need a GitHub account)
- Added navigator items that show the path on each page
- Moved changelogs to GitHub
- Code examples are now available in:
- cURL
- Python
- Javascript
- Go
- Node.js
- Ruby
- Rust
- You can now change the accent color of the docs
- Censored API Key is now shown in the docs if you are logged in (Can be disabled on the dashboard). If you copy the code example/cURL via the copy icon the full api key will be copied to your clipboard.
Please note that we are currently reworking our Documentation and you may encounter unfinished or imperfect pages
Premium
Section titled “Premium”Today we planned to release our Premium version but that has to delay for a bit longer due to some legal stuff. Germany does overcomplicate stuff by a lot. It should (hopefully and if everything goes well) release in the next 4-6 months though. I know that this is quite long but again we coded the entire system means it’s theoretically ready. But we have to do a lot of legal stuff before.
Optimizations
Section titled “Optimizations”We also optimized our backend and in general request handling. Here is a quick overview:
- Optimized request authentication. That decreased response time to about 140 ms on average
- Optimized logging
- Optimized database operations
- Switched to better database instances
- Switched from aws t3 instances to more powerful t4g instances
- Improved Dashboard API calls to improve speed
- Improved communication with 3rd party services (Means all endpoints that rely on a 3rd party service like the transcript endpoint are now faster.)
- Improved response time of our cdn (images.cookie-api.com, cards.cookie-api-com)
- Replaced the rate limit logic with a new one that’s faster and more reliable
What can i expect next update?
Section titled “What can i expect next update?”In the next update we are planning smaller features like endpoints with the focus on your suggested endpoints, QoL (Quality of Life) features and fixing most of the bugs that we didn’t fix yet. We also want to remake some of our stuff for example the login flow and some web pages. And as always some speed related optimizations.
